Built by a builder
I have built software for twenty years. For the last three, AI agents every day. I came to yachting from tech, and found an industry still run on phone calls, WhatsApp threads and paperwork.
Where it started
An industry running on phone calls.
I am among the most experienced agent builders working today, twenty years in software across agencies, startups and products, the last three spent building AI agents daily. I came to yachting for the yachts, not the software.
What I found was an industry that deserved better: captains running million-dollar operations from a phone, crew managers tracking certificates in spreadsheets, owners chasing updates through WhatsApp.
Where it grew
Yacht management companies called it the future.
Once the captains had seen the voice agent working, the conversations moved to crew. Onboarding a new crew member meant scanning a passport, chasing certificates and juggling rotations by hand. That became the next app.
Fleet, owner, guest and harbor followed the same pattern: talk to the people doing the job, then build the tool that removes the busywork.
